Rumors surrounding both phones have revealed that the Redmi K20 could be an upper mid-range phone while the Redmi K20 Pro will be featuring the advanced Snapdragon 855 SoC. The K20 Pro could be the cheapest SD855 phone in China.
The Redmi K20 series will be made official today at 2 PM (local time) in China. Redmi had recently announced the Redmi 7A smartphone. However, the company did not confirm on its price at its launch. Apart from launching the Redmi K20 and K20 Pro phones, the Chinese firm will be also revealing the price tag of Redmi 7A. It is speculated that the Redmi 7A may carry a price tag of 599 Yuan (~87).
The Redmi K20 and K20 Pro will be the first Redmi phones with notch-less screens and pop-up selfie shooters. The K20 Pro is expected to come with a 6.39-inch AMOLED display that will carry support for full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. It will be equipped with 7th generation in-screen fingerprint reader.
The 7nm Snapdragon 855 mobile platform is expected to power the Redmi K20 Pro with up to 8 GB of RAM. Its highest configuration model may feature up to 128 GB of storage.
The Redmi K20 could be fueled by the latest 8nm Snapdragon 730 mobile platform with up to 8 GB of RAM. It may also come with up to 128 GB of storage. The MIUI 10 based Android 9 Pie OS will come preloaded on both smartphones.
