Mi Band 4 Will Come With Bluetooth 5.0 Support
The Mi Band 4 variant certified by the Bluetooth SIG happens to be XMSH08HM. In addition to XMSH08HM, the XMSH07HM variant has also been granted Bluetooth certification. As confirmed by the ‘Mi Smart Band 4 NFC’ design name listed on the Bluetooth Launch Studio website, the upcoming fitness tracker will be available with NFC support in certain markets. The current Mi Band 3 also comes in NFC-enabled variants.
Apart from the name of the product, the Bluetooth certification confirms support for the Bluetooth 5.0 Low Energy standard. The current Mi Band 3 supports Bluetooth 4.2 Low Energy, so the Mi Band 4 will be a decent upgrade over its predecessor in terms of connectivity. No other details have been revealed by the Bluetooth SIG, so we will need to wait for the fitness tracker to pop up on other websites in order to find out more about its key features.
According to David Cui, the upcoming Mi Band 4 will offer quite a few new features, as has been the case with previous versions. While no details have surfaced online so far, some are speculating that the Mi Band 4 may offer ECG capabilities. Unlike the Apple Watch Series 4, however, the Mi Band 4 is still expected to be relatively affordable. Apart from an ECG monitor, the Mi Band 4 is also rumored to come with a larger display and improved activity tracking capabilities. Competitive pricing is actually one of the main reasons why the Mi Band series has been so popular among consumers, even in India. The Mi Band 3, which is available in the country for INR 1,999 is still selling hotcakes.
