Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 gets Android 9 Pie based MIUI 10.3.1 update:

Xiaomi has started rolling out a new update for the Redmi Note 5 smartphone which is sold in the Indian market. The new software update brings the latest MIUI 10.3.1 based on the Android 9.0 Pie. The update, as of now, is only available for users in China and will be rolled out in other markets across the globe as well.

The update brings in Face Unlock for apps, allows users to add text watermark while editing and also brings in a variety of art watermark styles. Also, Xiao AI can now be activated via a new voice wake-up feature which seems neat. 

The Redmi Note 5 was launched in February 2018 and was priced at Rs. 9,999. The Redmi Note 5 features a 5.99-inch full HD+ display with an 18:9 aspect ratio and gets Corning Gorilla Glass protection. The Redmi Note 5 features Snapdragon 625 SoC with 3/4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of storage. The Redmi Note 5 packs a 4000mAh battery.
